Laced Golf named to TIME’s Best Inventions of 2026

Laced Golf has been named to TIME’s Best Inventions of 2026. Laced Golf is a wearable aim-and-alignment system: foot-mounted sensors that show golfers, in real time, where they’re aimed. It is the first technology to capture data on aim footwork, a fundamental of golf that, until now, has been addressed only with a stick on the ground.

Golfers at every level, from weekend players to tour pros, share the same problem: they can’t reliably tell where they’re aimed. It isn’t a skill gap. Standing beside the ball, the golfer has to translate a target seen from one perspective into a stance built from another, and human vision isn’t built to do it. The error is invisible at setup and costly downrange: three degrees of misalignment, too small to feel, can miss the green from 150 yards.

Golf has gone digital almost everywhere else. A launch monitor can report that a clubface was 1.2 degrees open at impact, and golfers can capture thousands of data points playing full rounds in an 8-by-10-foot room. Yet for something as foundational as knowing where they’re aimed, golfers have had no data at all.

“Every golfer has had a good swing that went exactly where they were aimed, and nowhere near the target. Golf has learned to measure nearly everything that happens after the club starts moving. We built Laced to measure what happens before it.”

Laced Golf is the first technology to bring data to the pre-swing routine. Sensors clip to the golfer’s laces and capture stance direction to within a degree. LED rings, in the golfer’s line of sight at address, confirm when their aim matches their intention. For competitive rounds, Tourney Mode turns off all lights and vibration, so the sensors give the golfer no help during play. They observe the golfer’s pre-swing routine, aim, and alignment on every shot and deliver a post-round report showing how their setup held up when it counted.

“Every golf swing starts from the ground up, yet we’ve spent decades measuring almost everything except the golfer’s connection to it. Without objective footwork data, players and coaches are often guessing where breakdowns in the kinematic sequence begin. Laced Golf closes that gap, bringing clarity to pre-swing routine performance and creating a new foundation for data-driven player development.”
